Favored by climate and mild hills, Tuscany distinguishes itself among other regions of Central Italy for a high-quality wine production and particularly plentiful.
The most famous wine, even at international level, is the Chianti produced in the area between the provinces of Florence and Siena. Don't forget other extraordinary wines such as Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, to the reds, and the Vernaccia di San Gimignano, among whites; all wines, together with the Chianti DOCG status achieved.
Other characteristic wine produced exclusively in this region is the Vin Santo dessert wine suited to accompany pastries. A popular alternative to Vin Santo is Malvasia toscana, obtained by wilting the homonymous grapes. | |
